Typically, our customers’ engineers will spend time in our factory working closely with members of our team to ensure all material specifications, testing, packing and operating procedures are understood. Your engineers will be made to feel most welcome at our facility and we find that respect builds very quickly between all parties.
For your project, the skilled WH Kemp team will be led by an expert from our New Product Introduction (NPI) department with appropriate space allocated and an assembly line set up in line with 5S / CANDO principles; 5S being one of several quality tools embedded in the WH Kemp ways of working. Tooling and machinery will be acquired as necessary.

- WH Kemp technicians manufacture various types of product testing equipment for one of the UK’s most prestigious consumer product companies. The customer’s engineers will build prototype testing equipment at their premises and then send to our NPI team for our evaluation. Our evaluation will include how to replicate, improve and source the components. The customer’s engineers will then spend time with WH Kemp’s technicians; together, they perfect the process leaving our team to build exactly what is required for the customer’s global manufacturing plants. As one of their lead engineers said recently “ … I have been really impressed by the work you have carried out for us especially your team - who I found great to work with”
- For the customer, their valuable engineering resource can continue to develop new products, leaving our WH Kemp team to undertake the repeat builds of their product testing equipment.
- Following on from the build of cable assemblies which involved GSM Antennas and soldering to PCBs for vehicle tracking instruments, WH Kemp took on the full assembly of these tracking devices, including the programming and testing of each device and complete packaging ready for resale. WH Kemp’s supply chain team arranged transportation to distributors globally on behalf of the customer.
- Our team completed the build of large vending machines. A long standing and fast growing wiring harness customer required additional production capacity and within 3 weeks the WH Kemp started to assemble complete machines including signage.
- The manufacture and packaging of lighting units is a commonly undertaken request, usually involving sourcing parts from the Far East and building the units to meet European requirements and standards.
- Other recent examples of our contract electrical manufacturing work include product assembly of machines for the catering sector, complete 19 inch rack control cabinets for use within the petrochemical sector, specialist medical equipment and ticketing machines.
