Electrical Control Panels and Control Box Assembly

Collaborative Panel Build Manufacturing

Working alongside your engineers to deliver reliable, production-ready control panels and box builds.

Every control panel starts with understanding exactly what it has to do.

WH Kemp manufactures electrical control panels, control boxes and operator consoles for customers whose equipment often operates in demanding environments, where reliability matters as much as functionality. From our purpose-built manufacturing facility in Westbury, Wiltshire, we work closely with customer engineering teams to turn concepts, drawings and prototypes into repeatable production assemblies.

Some customers provide complete manufacturing documentation. Others involve us much earlier, asking us to help improve manufacturability, recommend components, refine layouts or simplify assembly before production begins. However the project starts, our aim is the same, deliver a product that is straightforward to manufacture, easy to service and performs exactly as intended.

Our Engineering Partnership

No two control panel projects are identical. Many involve detailed discussions between our engineers and yours long before the first panel is built. We take time to understand how the equipment will be installed, who will use it, how it will be maintained and the environment in which it must operate.

Working together, we can often identify opportunities to improve assembly methods, reduce complexity, enhance reliability or lower production cost without compromising performance. We are equally comfortable manufacturing from fully released drawings, reverse engineering from a proven sample, or supporting customers as designs continue to evolve during prototype and pre-production stages.

Our Flexible Manufacturing Approach

Every project is built by a dedicated production team with the appropriate skills and equipment.

Customers can supply materials as free-issue, ask us to procure everything on their behalf, or choose a combination of the two. We work with established enclosure manufacturers together with a trusted network of local sheet-metal and machining specialists, allowing us to supply complete assemblies ready for installation.

Whether the requirement is a single prototype, pilot production or ongoing manufacture, each project follows the same disciplined process of planning, build, inspection, testing and documentation.

Testing and Validation

Control panels rarely stop at assembly. We carry out electrical testing using established industry equipment and, where standard equipment cannot adequately verify performance, design bespoke test systems specifically for the application.

Every completed panel is supplied with the agreed documentation and full traceability, providing confidence that what arrives on site is exactly what was approved.

Built Around Your Requirements

Although control panels and control boxes form a significant part of our manufacturing capability, customers regularly ask us to build products that do not fit neatly into a standard category.

Operator stations, secure equipment cabinets, integrated electro-mechanical assemblies, specialist enclosures and other bespoke electrical equipment are all projects we are happy to discuss. If the product requires precision electrical assembly and disciplined manufacturing, we will tell you honestly whether we are the right manufacturing partner.

Quality You Can Verify

Every control panel is manufactured within WH Kemp’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and assembled by IPC/WHMA-A-620-trained technicians.

During our 2026 LRQA surveillance audit, independent auditors recorded zero non-conformities, recognising the professionalism of our team, strong collaboration throughout the business and our commitment to continual improvement.
