Cable Harness Solution to Reduce Vehicle Off Road (VOR) Time

WH Kemp’s people work alongside vehicle manufacturers to trial various Cable Harness options, especially where improvements are needed within legacy Cable Looms. Water ingress and vibration damage are typical issues that need to be addressed and overcome, and Cable Harnesses within buses face particularly demanding conditions, significant vibration, harsh weather, and powerful jet washing.

WH Kemp welcomes customers to our Westbury premises, and engineers from the UK’s largest bus manufacturer are frequent visitors to our team here. The company’s Directors were keen to explore WH Kemp’s ideas on how improvements could be made to solve the issues emerging with their imported Cable Looms.

Our NPI team suggested many improvements and worked alongside the customer’s engineers to develop a redesigned, fit-for-purpose Cable Loom.

Challenge

Premature issues with imported Cable Looms, caused by water ingress and vibration damage, in the demanding operating conditions of commercial buses.

Solution

WH Kemp’s NPI team worked alongside the customer’s engineers, at the Directors’ request, to develop a redesigned, fit-for-purpose Cable Loom.

Outcome

A redesigned Cable Loom developed collaboratively with the customer’s engineering team.

Legacy Cable Loom Causing Reliability Issues?

Our NPI Team Works Alongside Your Engineers

If water ingress, vibration damage or an ageing Cable Loom design is causing reliability issues in your fleet, our NPI team can work alongside your engineers to trial options and develop a redesigned, fit-for-purpose solution, just as we did for the UK’s largest bus manufacturer.
