The WH Kemp Difference

Manufacturing That Reduces Risk

The right product, properly understood, built consistently and supported by people who take responsibility.

Outsourcing a cable assembly, wiring harness, control panel or electromechanical build should make life easier. Too often, it creates a new source of risk, unclear requirements, inconsistent workmanship, incomplete documentation, unreliable delivery or a supplier without the capacity to support the programme as it grows.

WH Kemp is built to remove those risks. We combine experienced people, disciplined manufacturing systems and unusually responsive customer support to help engineering companies move confidently from first discussion and prototype through to repeat production and long-term supply.

The Honest Promise

We do not claim that manufacturing is risk-free. We work to identify risk early, communicate it clearly and take practical responsibility for resolving it before it reaches your production line.

Why Customers Come to WH Kemp

Why Customers Come to WH KempCustomers frequently approach us when a project has become too important for an uncertain supply chain. An existing supplier may lack capacity, quality may have become inconsistent, communication may be too slow, or a technically delicate product may need a more capable manufacturing partner.

Our role is not simply to reproduce a drawing. We take time to understand what the product must do, how it will be used, what documentation is required and what could go wrong. That understanding shapes the prototype, the production process, the inspection plan and the way we support the customer thereafter.

We understand before we build

New projects are reviewed by experienced production, quality, purchasing and project personnel. Questions are raised early, before ambiguity becomes scrap, delay or field failure.

We protect the route to production

Prototype builds, FAIR documentation, controlled work instructions and agreed inspection requirements create a dependable path into repeat manufacture.

We respond when priorities change

Where capacity and material availability allow, we reorganise work, accelerate production and support urgent deliveries rather than hiding behind a standard lead time.

We provide continuity

Cross-trained teams, documented processes, stock planning and a substantial UK manufacturing facility reduce dependence on one individual, one machine or one fragile source of supply.

We tell customers what they need to know

Problems are communicated early and directly. Customers have access to people who understand their products and are empowered to act.

We keep improving

Lean manufacturing, data analysis and structured problem-solving are used to improve flow, quality, cost and repeatability throughout the life of a programme.

From First Conversation to Long-Term Supply

Many of our strongest customer relationships began with a difficult first project, a prototype that needed to be made manufacturable, a product transferred from an under-performing supplier, an urgent requirement, or a programme expected to grow beyond the capacity of its original source.

We support that transition with a dedicated new-project process and continue the relationship through production planning, procurement, quality control, stock management and delivery. As volumes and requirements change, the service changes with them.

What Risk Reduction Looks Like in Practice
  • Experienced review of drawings, bills of materials and customer specifications before production begins.
  • Prototype and pre-production builds supported by clear feedback and FAIR documentation where required.
  • Full material and production traceability appropriate to the programme.
  • Customer-specific inspection, testing, labelling, packaging and reporting.
  • Kanban, scheduled call-offs, stock holding and direct-to-production-area deliveries.
  • Flexible sourcing using customer-nominated suppliers, approved alternatives and customer-negotiated supported pricing.
  • Rapid escalation and practical recovery planning when demand, materials or priorities change.
  • Capacity and systems designed to support a project beyond its initial prototype or low-volume phase.

It Is Our People Who Make the Difference

It Is Our People Who Make the DifferenceProcesses matter, but they only work when people care about the result. WH Kemp’s teams take pride in the products they build and understand that many assemblies form part of equipment where reliability, safety and continuity are critical.

Customers deal with experienced people who know their account, remember the history of the product and understand the consequences of getting it wrong. That combination of practical knowledge, ownership and responsiveness is difficult to capture in a purchasing spreadsheet, but it is often the reason customers choose to move work to WH Kemp, and continue to place it with us.

Reduce Manufacturing Risk

Start with a conversation about the product, the programme and where the risk currently sits.

We will help you assess the requirement, identify the right route into production and establish the controls needed for dependable long-term supply.
