Defence, security and uncrewed-systems programmes leave little room for uncertainty in manufacture. WH Kemp builds wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, control boxes and electromechanical assemblies for live production programmes and specialist project work, including a completed programme for Porton Down DSTL. Much of this work cannot be described publicly. What can be stated is consistent, customers rely on controlled production, responsive support and careful handling of confidential technical information.
Our Defence Sector Experience

WH Kemp currently manufactures complex assemblies as a Tier 2 supplier to an established UK uncrewed and counter-drone systems programme. The work has progressed from initial builds to significant repeat production. We took over the work from a previous supplier, established control of the assemblies quickly and moved into sustained delivery without compromising the customer’s requirements.
This current programme builds on three decades of defence-related work across UK, US and Canadian supply chains as a Tier 2, 3 or 4 supplier, together with the completed Porton Down DSTL project. The value to a new customer is practical, WH Kemp understands the controls, discretion and production discipline required before a sensitive programme is transferred or scaled.
Examples of Our Work

WH Kemp also produces electrical assemblies for drone-jamming equipment and supports a further uncrewed-systems programme that has moved into significant repeat production after previous manufacturing attempts did not meet the required standard.
Across these programmes, our role has been to take control of complex or underperforming builds, clarify and improve manufacturing information, establish repeatable production and scale from first article to sustained supply. Confidentiality is maintained throughout the same process, rather than treated as a separate requirement.
Confidentiality and Dependable Delivery
Defence and security work requires discretion to be built into normal operating practice. Access to customer drawings, technical information and programme details is controlled, and the relevant documentation is managed throughout production.
For a defence or uncrewed-systems programme, an early discussion allows us to assess the build information, production controls, confidentiality requirements and practical route to supply.
