Nuclear, grid and energy equipment is expected to remain dependable over long service lives, often in demanding environments. WH Kemp manufactures wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, control panels and electromechanical assemblies for businesses across grid infrastructure, electrical power distribution, power management, actuation and flow-control systems, and emerging electrification technologies. The work is supported by controlled processes, verified components, full traceability and long-term retention of manufacturing knowledge.
Our Nuclear, Grid and Energy Experience

For 35 years, WH Kemp has manufactured electrical assemblies for one of its largest customers, a global grid-technology manufacturer whose equipment supports the transmission, protection and management of electrical power. A recent supplier scorecard placed WH Kemp in the customer’s “Excellent” band, defect performance was around seven times better than target and on-time delivery exceeded 98% across more than 1,000 order lines in one year. Safety-stock arrangements also supported the customer during rapid growth and shorter lead times. Supply has now begun to a second site within the same international group.
Alongside our long-standing work in grid infrastructure, we also manufacture electrical assemblies for one of Schneider Electric’s principal UK manufacturing sites, supporting low-voltage electrical distribution and power-management equipment used across industrial, commercial and critical infrastructure applications.
Flow-Control Systems
WH Kemp was established in 1967 specifically to supply a long-standing manufacturer of flow-control equipment and the relationship continues across a range of ongoing work streams. The company manufactures equipment used in oil and gas, power generation, water, nuclear and other critical industrial applications. This continuing work demonstrates WH Kemp’s ability to retain product knowledge, support established equipment and respond as technical and volume requirements change over long programme lifecycles.
Nuclear-Sector Precision and Long-Term Programmes
WH Kemp also supplies cable assemblies into a small number of nuclear-sector applications. This work is audited approximately every three years and covers ISO 9001 compliance, record-keeping, component traceability, genuine-part verification, conformance to build specifications, and staff training and communication. Every audit has been passed, and the associated documentation is retained digitally and on paper for 40 years. The same disciplines support prototype builds, production transfers, low-volume high-complexity manufacture, repeat production and emerging electrification requirements.
