Decades of proven Cable Harness Automotive expertise continues to drive customers to our door

Throughout WH Kemp’s 50+ year history, we have supplied Cable Harnesses and sub-assembly solutions to many transport sectors, including public vehicle manufacturers.

It’s a fact that some of the UK’s largest Bus and Coach companies have recognised the competitive advantages of what is a large, dedicated, Automotive production cell facility embedded within our 25,000 sq.ft. modern factory – a facility designed to deliver highly specified, robust and utterly reliable Cable Assembly products, either directly to Bus manufacturers, or as part of a two-tier supplier arrangement.

Public Transport Fleet AutomotiveWH Kemp’s ‘ready to go’ Automotive Wiring Looms production infrastructure is the reason why – some three years ago – we were able to step in, with little notice, to help a customer replace a failing imported Cable Assembly product.

Two engineers representing a large, UK-based, specialist Automotive manufacturer, teamed up with our own Cable Harness technicians, to design and build a superior Cable Assembly product urgently required for a large commercial fleet of vehicles. Truly a case of WH Kemp helping the wheels of the bus go round and round!

That same team of WH Kemp Wiring Looms technicians is used to liaising with, and visiting regularly, commercial vehicle manufacturers. We strongly believe this close partner approach, notably sharing Cable Assembly knowledge and expertise, is the reason behind WH Kemp’s exemplary ‘Right First Time’ record and what drives Automotive customers to our door.

Our team: Advising Bus Manufacturer on Wiring Harness improvements to reduce ‘vehicle off-road’ incidents.

Improving our green credentials – from striving continually to reduce our own carbon footprint to targeting customers that contribute to cleaner-air urban environments – is always top of the WH Kemp agenda. With a growing necessity for all of us to increase our use of public passenger transport, we are proud to find ourselves working with two of the UK’s largest commercial omnibus companies, both who are leading the way in reducing engine emissions.

All our Automotive Cable Harnesses are manufactured and assembled to strict customer specifications, thereby ensuring a perfect fit and function for top level performance. Stringent production and quality control standards are followed throughout the company, guaranteeing total customer satisfaction.

Cable Harness solution to cut ‘vehicle off road’ time.

Our people work alongside Vehicle Manufacturers to trial various Cable Harness options, especially when improvements are required within legacy Cable Looms. Water ingress and damage caused by vibration are typical issues that need to be addressed and overcome. Cable Harnesses within buses are subject to significant vibration, harsh weather conditions and powerful jet washing.

WH Kemp welcomes customers to its premises and engineers from the UKs largest bus manufacturer are certainly no strangers to our team here in Westbury.

The Directors were keen to explores our ideas on how improvements could be made to solve the issues emerging with their imported Cable Looms. Our NPI team suggested many improvements and worked alongside the customer’s engineers to develop a redesigned fit-for-purpose Cable Loom.

If you’d be interested in working with a Cable Assembly manufacturer who has modern premises, purpose built for the build of large-scale Wiring Harnesses and one which has the facilities and technicians who’d welcome your engineers to work alongside us, then please call one of our team on 01373 823322.or email sales@whkemp.co.uk with your enquiry.
