WH Kemp is typically known for building Cable Harnesses and Control Panels for large corporates who provide machinery and equipment for mission critical and life supporting applications. However, that does not mean that we are not able to support smaller companies and start-ups in developing, trialling and building Cable Looms and Control Panels.
Case Study: Motor Sports
Indeed, this was the case with a company designing and building EMC systems for Rally Cars. They had a small team in house designing and building their Cable Looms for their racing cars. The work became too much for the team and they contacted WH Kemp to see if we would be willing to take on the builds of Cable Looms. Drawings were limited, and so Cable Loom samples were provided. The first challenge was to take these Cable Loom samples, check the component requirements and find a suitable source. Then it was possible to replicate the golden samples and the update drawings as required.
Within months the following month the motorsport company was handing us all their builds so they could focus their team focused on design and sales.
The Cable Looms supplied by WH Kemp were soon spotted by others within the motorsport sector and WH Kemp now build Looms for others in this sector. It now represents one of the fastest growing parts of our business.
