WH Kemp’s very own ‘Electric Light Orchestra’ of Cable Assembly Experts

WH Kemp has been providing Wiring Looms, Sub-Assemblies and Complete Builds for Lighting manufacturers, and for re-sellers of imported Lighting products, since the Company’s inception some 54 years ago. Not surprising therefore, we can offer customers a veritable ‘Electric Light Orchestra’ of some of the industry’s best Cable Harness Lighting technicians and experts.

From cabinet and furniture makers supplying high street retail traders to car manufacturers, we have supplied finished light fittings to an array of sectors. Much of our Lighting work involves building sub-assemblies or product conversions. This often includes undertaking an electrical overhaul of imported semi-finished products, in order to meet UK regulatory requirements.

Commercial Lighing Cable HarnessesSports Direct and House of Fraser are just two of the many high street giants with WH Kemp manufactured Cable Assembly systems inside their stores; specifically as part of promotional merchandising units built to illuminate retail products such as footwear, handbags and ties.

Staying with the high street / metropolitan areas, another Lighting market in which we are involved is the Out Of Home (OOH) digital information sector. Across the UK, many LED digital data screens located at bus stops, and depicting for example, timetables and expected vehicle arrival and / or delay announcements, comprise WH Kemp manufactured Wiring Looms / Sub-Assembly Lighting products.

Hopefully this brief explanation is sufficient to shine a light on WH Kemp’s unparalleled position in the Cable Harnesses and Sub-Assemblies Lighting sector. However, if you’d like to hear more, why not call us. We’d be delighted to show you our modern, purpose-built, 25,000 sq.ft. factory and introduce you to our talented team of technicians.

Project Example:

Lighting up Retailers

WH Kemp was recently contacted by a major retail store designer and contractor, responsible for creative lighting in many of the UKs leading retail stores. Their need was, at first, urgent, as their in-house capacity was insufficient to keep up with demand in the build of complex cable and LED driver sub-assemblies. WH Kemp was able to set up a production line in 2 weeks using 5 S Principles. Standard operating procedures were completed, tooling and testing equipment acquired and installed. The customer was delighted that it was able to meet its customer commitments on time.

Seeking continual improvements in all that we do is a central tenet of WH Kemp’s ways of working. With some breathing space during the pandemic, WH Kemp has had the opportunity to perfect the set up of the Cable Assembly production line, adding further tooling, soldering equipment and machinery. As with all products manufactured at WH Kemp, our technicians are well trained and we ensure that the customer requirements are understood. With the retail sector now re-open the production line is in full flow.

If you wish to partner with a cable sub-assembly and contract manufacturer who has the set-up, experience and resources to set up a highly efficient customer specific production area then please feel free to call us on 01373 823322 or email info@whkemp.co.uk.
