WH Kemp’s recent projects within the aerospace sector have involved the building of complex Control Systems for the movement of helicopters and advising on Cable Assemblies necessary for the testing of on-board electronics contained within military aircraft wings being manufactured in Filton, Bristol.
WH Kemp has chosen not to adopt full certification of AS9100 Rev D (2016) at this time, albeit our processes are in alignment with the requirements. Our LR (QA) auditor for ISO 9001 (2015) specialises in AS9100 (Rev D) certifications and has advised us that there would be limited work for our team to undertake prior to certification. We will undertake this work should a customer require our AS certification. To date, our work in this sector has been off aircraft, building cable harnesses and control boxes in support of the aviation sector.

Wiring Harness solution for Military Aircraft testing
Engineers from a global military aircraft manufacturer were concerned that the Wiring Harnesses used as a part of the kit to test on-board aircraft were adequately maintained and replaced when necessary at short notice. It is essential that such Wiring Harnesses are faultless, yet they are used in challenging environments potentially putting them under great strain. The engineers visited WH Kemp, liked what they saw and decided to work with us.
The WH team developed a process whereby we would build the Wiring Harnesses and always have two sets spare in stock. As required, we would pick up and replace the Wiring Harnesses with those we had in stock. We would service the returned Wiring Harnesses and replace in part or in full if necessary. In other words, WH Kemp would always have in stock two complete sets of faultless Wiring Harnesses ready for dispatch at short notice.
