Fire Detection and Equipment for Hazardous Environments

Customers working with the design and manufacture of equipment for fire detection and fire protection demand absolute confidence in the quality of their Wiring Looms, hence they choose to partner with WH Kemp.

With WH Kemp’s sector leading quality record it is no surprise that companies dealing in fire detection, fire suppression and fire protection equipment choose to partner with WH Kemp for the supply of Wiring Looms.

Since 1967 WH Kemp has been building Wiring Looms and sub-assemblies that are used in potentially hazardous areas within oil rigs and petro-chemical plants. Our team are well versed in ensuring that our products are right first time and fit for purpose. WH Kemp understand that the correct functioning of the Wiring Loom is essential within equipment used in hazardous environments. That’s why we set our quality standard at zero defects. Every day the supervisory and management team attend a series of stand-up meetings to discuss every issue relating to safety, quality, production efficiency and delivery. Actions to be undertaken are duly noted and for all to see.

WH Kemp now has a growing number of customers who provide equipment used in hazardous areas including ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2. Companies supplying products into these potentially harsh environments need absolute peace of mind that the Wiring Looms fitted within their equipment function perfectly.

Case Study: Working with our customer to support a redesign of Wiring Looms and Control Boxes for operation in hazardous environments

Over the past four years WH Kemp has been working in partnership with our customer’s engineers to develop and provide Control Panels and Wiring Looms to ensure the safe transfer of gas form ships. Our customer is a global leader in the design and manufacture of safety equipment. Traditionally, the company has been providing many versions of their safety equipment. With new management on board, they decided to consolidate their portfolio of products. Quality has been of overriding importance, this to ensure their products remain totally effective for use in the most hazardous of environments. Their engineering team, tasked with evaluating how to consolidate their portfolio, spent many hours working with our people on our shop floor reviewing and testing different solutions. Wiring Looms and Control Boxes needed to be designed that would cover many usage scenarios.

Through working alongside WH Kemp, the Control Box design has been completed and now we are proudly building Control Boxes and the Wiring Looms that are used globally to aid the safe transfer of gas, often in ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments. The engineers have always been so complimentary about the help and support that they have received from all of our team involved in their project and now continue to work with us on developing further electrical mechanical sub-assemblies.

If you would like to find a company where you can work with a friendly team of people who can support your engineers’ in finding new or revised ways to construct Control Boxes and Wiring Looms then please call us on 01373 822333 or email us on info@whkemp.co.uk and one of our customer support team will contact you on the same working day.
